Arkansans cross state line for new Missouri Flora Farms Dispensary – KLRT – FOX16.com

PINEVILLE, Mo. (KFTA/KNWA) — A new cannabis dispensary is now open in Southwest Missouri, but it’s location is causing some controversy.

Flora Farms has opened its fifth dispensary in Pineville, Missouri. The new location is less than one mile from the Arkansas state line.

In November 2022, it became legal for Missourians to use marijuana for recreational use. According to Mark Hendren, president of Flora Farms, this was part of the reason for moving the dispensary to Pineville from Neosho, Mo.

“Our business went up statewide and our store in Neosho about 25 miles north here, fairly small facility,” said Hendren.

Hendren says the new facility provides more space and accommodation for customers.

“It’s about three times bigger, has four or five times as many registers to wait on customers and an enclosed drive-thru,” said Hendren.

Hendren is aware this dispensary is controversial because of its location.

“We don’t know what the total mix population is,” said Hendren. “We do know that our only requirement, we are regulated by the state of Missouri, is to make sure

Daphne Prepares Medical Marijuana Dispensary Fee Ordinance Amid Licensing Halt – BNN Breaking

Daphne Prepares Medical Marijuana Dispensary Fee Ordinance Amid Licensing Halt

In the wake of the Alabama Medical Marijuana Commission’s award to RJK Holdings for one of the limited dispensary licenses, the city of Daphne, Alabama is gearing up to legislate an ordinance concerning the annual fees that medical marijuana dispensaries will have to bear. This development, however, is happening amidst a temporary restraining order from Judge James Anderson that has brought the licensing process to a standstill.

The Proposed Ordinance and its Implications

The Daphne finance committee has proposed creating a new category under the business license ordinance exclusively for medical marijuana dispensaries. The proposed fee structure, labeled ‘Schedule X,’ calls for an annual fee equivalent to 3% of gross sales, with a minimum fee set at $500. This implies that dispensaries are likely to pay significantly higher fees than other healthcare stores, mirroring their specialized nature.

City’s Stance on the Fee Structure

Mayor Robin LeJeune has stated that the city has chosen this fee structure over implementing an additional sales tax on the products sold by dispensaries. The city council is expected to cast their votes on the ordinance in their upcoming meeting, slated for January

How much would a medical cannabis dispensary pay to do business in Daphne? City considers fees – AL.com

The Alabama commission tasked with awarding a limited number of licenses to medical marijuana dispensaries has included one for Daphne.

But while all the licenses have been put on hold by a judge — again — Daphne’s city council is preparing to enact an ordinance setting up how much the dispensaries will have to pay each year to operate inside the city.

RJK Holdings was one of the four companies granted dispensary licenses by the Alabama Medical Marijuana Commission in December. The dispensary planned for Daphne lists an address of 1903 U.S. 98. Efforts by AL.com to reach the company for comment Friday were unsuccessful.

State legislation passed in May 2021 that legalized medical marijuana products for people with certain health conditions requires cities to enact an ordinance for those dispensaries to exist. Products can include gummies, tablets, capsules, tinctures, patches, oils and other forms allowed by the legislation.

The city council passed an ordinance in 2022 that would allow dispensaries to operate in the city under zoning and business license rules that apply to “health care stores,” such as pharmacies, health food stores and cosmetics stores.

The 2022 ordinance mentions the benefits having medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits would bring, such as more
