Town hall held in Fenton to discuss marijuana dispensaries – WNEM

FENTON, Mich. (WNEM) – Fenton city officials hosted a town hall meeting Wednesday night, April 17 to hear what residents think about allowing a recreational marijuana dispensary.

“We have no ordinance at this point in time and we’re trying to sort out what we’re going to do about that, and we need to have that approach be based on what our residents want us to do because we’re elected officials,” said Tracy Bottecelli, a Fenton City council member.

This town hall comes after the city received two petitions looking to put a referendum on the ballot to change its ordinance or charter. Officials said the petitions were not valid, but another petition is now circulating.

As a result, the city is asking if this is something the community wants.
