Though some elected officials and community members were wary when Napa permitted the use of recreational cannabis about two years ago, police records indicate the city’s dispensaries are generally peaceful and its patrons well-behaved.

Napa approved non-medical marijuana sales in March 2022. At that point, the city had six dispensaries. Since then, one of those dispensaries has closed and reopened under a new name and ownership, and an additional three have made the city their home.

For the dispensaries that have been in continuous operation since 2022, Eagle Eye received the most calls, 23, while Perfect Union had 18 calls for service. Abide had 16 calls, The Herbivore had five, and Napa Cannabis Collective had three.
