New adult-use cannabis dispensary opens in the Bronx, two others in NYC – The Journal News

A Bronx adult-use cannabis dispensary opened on Thursday, joining hundreds of store openings across the state.

The New York State Office of Cannabis Management said that several New York City adult-use dispensaries, including Cannabis Emporium in the Bronx, will officially open this week after a lawsuit barred cannabis retailers from obtaining licenses for four months. It’s on Williamsbridge Road in the Bronx.

The sites opening in Manhattan are Dagmar on West Broadway in Soho and Grow Together on Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn.

Four disabled veterans sued the state in August, claiming that state cannabis industry regulators “unjustly awarded dispensary licenses” to businesses impacted by prior marijuana convictions. The lawsuit was settled on Nov. 29, awarding over 430 cannabis dispensaries across the Lower Hudson Valley their licenses.

Cannabis Emporium is the second officially licensed cannabis dispensary to open in the Bronx.
