Weed Shop Closes, Blames Downtown ‘Safety’ – The San Francisco Standard

“Due to the deteriorating situation in Downtown San Francisco, to ensure the safety of our customers team members, we have made the difficult decision to close Bloom Room San Francisco until conditions improve,” a message on the website reads.

The dispensary will remain open through Feb. 6 and all products are on sale at 30% off.

“Unfortunately, we’ve waited for things to turn around as long as we can wait,” founder Stephen Rechif said. “Sales have been dipping continually because people don’t feel comfortable coming to the area.”

He named the cleanliness of Central SoMa’s streets as a factor, as well as an impending construction project across the street that would almost certainly bring further disruption. Rechif also cited the area’s open drug sales and usage—something that may strike observers as notable coming from a dispensary owner.

“Comparing cannabis to the things that are going on around us—it’s not anything in the same realm,” he said.

Overall, Rechif expressed gratitude to the San Francisco community that sustained the business for more than a decade—several years before California voters permitted recreational cannabis use via 2016’s Proposition 64. Dispensary members who had met their spouses at the Bloom Room’s vape table have been emailing him their remembrances

Police investigate suspected illegal marijuana growing operation near Bellaire – KPRC Click2Houston

HOUSTON – On Renwick Drive, near Bissonnet, a multi-agency police raid happened Thursday night.

Bellaire Police stated via Facebook they were part of the team investigating a suspected illegal marijuana operation and that arrests were pending.

Bellaire PD’s Facebook post was later removed.

KPRC 2 made it to the scene of the search warrant execution and noticed people in hazmat suits and a big bag of something being removed from the unmarked building.

But by Friday morning at the very same place, a business called Edwards Family Marijuana Dispensary, it was back in business, with a filled parking lot and steady stream of customers.

Their unmarked building at 7565 Renwick is one of three Edwards Family Marijuana Dispensaries in Houston.

Edwards Family Dispensary bills itself as a medical marijuana dispensary, the only kind that’s legal in Texas.

Their marijuana selection is even available for order online for pickup or delivery.

The Renwick storefront, one of three, is also seemingly operating within 1,000 feet of Braeburn Elementary School. Nearby residents have certainly noticed the traffic.

“Go by this place and you would think you are at a Chik fil a drive through. There are so many cars going through that they need traffic directors. It is like a turnstile,” a

Grandview dispensary sees success in first year sales of recreational cannabis – KSHB 41 Kansas City News

KANSAS CITY, Mo — Saturday marks one year since recreational marijuana use was legalized in Missouri.

In 2023, adult use cannabis sales topped $1 billion.

“Not surprised,” said JD Hilton, a customer at ReLeaf Resources Dispensary in Grandview. “I’m sure it’s gonna go up higher. It’s just a matter of getting everybody comfortable coming in here.”

Hilton started going to the dispensary when it opened for medical marijuana sales three years ago.

The medical marijuana helped him through recovery and pain management after a motorcycle accident.

Hilton said the biggest impact of legalization is the ability for customers to buy marijuana guilt-free and to do it safely.

“When we play on the streets, it wasn’t the case,” he said. “You just got what you got. Here, it’s medicine and you feel comfortable and confident every time. I feel comfortable when I walk out that door, both with the medicine and with the laws where they are today.”

About 45,000 products leave ReLeaf Resources Dispensary on a monthly basis.

Mitch Alexander, the dispensary’s director of retail, said foot traffic and revenue have quadrupled compared with 2022.

“If you look at other state’s numbers, we are right there, competing with Colorado’s yearly numbers and they are 12 years senior

Tribal Based Medical Cannabis Dispensary Plans Opening in East St. Cloud – KNSI

(KNSI) — A self-described tribal based medical cannabis dispensary is planning to open in the old Ace Bar building downtown St. Cloud on Saturday morning.

White Feather Concierge and Wellness Center President Doctor Allen S. Miller is a holistic healer with the Crow Nation. He talked exclusively with KNSI News on Friday and explained their mandate is to protect, enhance, and bring back native health services. “These techniques that the natives have go back several hundred years. And under treaty, what we’re able to do is revitalize those back in the community.”

Dr. Miller claims the facility will be under tribal control of the Crow Nation. As it is a sovereign nation, he says it is not under the jurisdiction of the state, or county, or city laws.

People seeking services will need to be seen by a White Feather physician to determine if they qualify for care, according to Miller. They must also become an ‘ad-hoc’ member of the Crow Nation by paying a $50 fee. “It’s a yearlong membership fee, for lack of a better term. Kind of like Costco,” Miller explains. “And they’ll be able to take advantage

Neighbors fume as Staten Island bagel shop, gift store pushed out for cannabis dispensary – New York Daily News

A pair of longtime small businesses on Staten Island say they’re being forced out to make way for a cannabis dispensary, to the anger of the local community.

S&T Bagels & Deli and the Card & Gift Shop have been neighbors on a Forest Avenue strip mall in West Brighton for over 20 years, both without a lease for roughly five years.

But their owners were shocked in January when a landlord informed them they had to be out by March 31.

“We did not see this coming,” said Shamin Frammosa, 54, the “S” in S&T Bagels at 463 Forest Ave. (her husband, Tom, is the “T”). She said the landlord told her over the phone last month they planned to open a dispensary on the site.

Frammosa described working at the store seven days a week since 2001, watching customers’ children going off to college. She said regulars have come by in tears after hearing about the store’s imminent closure on social media.

“It’s hard,” a heartbroken Frammosa told the Daily News. “It’s not just losing a store, but it’s losing your neighborhood.”

Dimesh “Danny” Patel,

Retail theft hits local dispensaries – NEWS10 ABC

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Another marijuana shop was burglarized in Rensselaer County this week. It’s the second one NEWS10 has learned about in that county and it has dispensary owners concerned about security measures.

The owner from 420Bliss shared security footage that shows three people who broke a window to enter the business. Owner Renee Lindo has one message.

“It’s not worth it. You’re going to get caught. You’re going to go to prison for a long time,” said Lindo.

It happened early Wednesday morning, the same day another dispensary in Rensselaer county was burglarized. Lindo and other owners say accessing their product is not as easy as it may seem.

“It’s not out, they will never get to it. It’s secured. Don’t do it. You’re going to go to prison for all these damages you’re making, and you’re getting nothing out of it,” said Lindo.

That’s because dispensaries, like 420Bliss and Stage One Dispensary, have products locked up in a vault.

The thieves thought they got their hands on marijuana products but instead it was just packaging stuffed
