KC dispensary 1 of 9 to have license revoked due to eligibility concerns – KCTV 5

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City dispensary was one of nine dispensaries that had their licenses revoked due to eligibility concerns.

The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services announced on Wednesday, March 27, that its Division of Cannabis Regulation has revoked the microbusiness dispensary licenses of nine retailers in the Show-Me State.

Dispensary owners who are licensed as microbusinesses are required to meet specific qualifications for continued eligibility. Additionally, a microbusiness license is meant to provide a path to facility ownership for those who may not otherwise easily have that chance – like those with a net worth of less than $250,000 or veterans.

DHSS also said microbusiness licenses are required to be majority-owned and operated by those who meet the criteria. This means the DCR is required to continue to monitor the details of microbusiness ownership arrangements – even if they are later changed – to ensure continued compliance.

On Dec. 15, DHSS said the DCR issued 11 notices of Pending Revocation for licensees that were awarded on Oct. 2. Each listed the basis for the pending revocation. They had 30 days to respond.

Health officials indicated that two licensees satisfied their requirements while another license was revoked due to a

Missouri revokes nine social-equity cannabis business licenses for out-of-state companies • Missouri Independent – Missouri Independent

Missouri cannabis regulators have revoked nine of the 48 social-equity cannabis licenses issued in October, after finding the companies that obtained them didn’t meet eligibility requirements.

Eight were dispensaries linked to out-of-state groups and one was a wholesale facility.

Among them is Canna Zoned, a Michigan company that secured two of the 16 dispensary cannabis licenses — in Columbia and Arnold. Both licenses were revoked.

State records show Canna Zoned was connected to 104 out of the 1,048 applications that were entered into a lottery selection for the dispensary licenses. An investigation by The Independent in October found applicants thought they were partnering with the Michigan investor but in reality signed agreements requiring them to relinquish all control and profits of the business.

Some Canna Zoned applicants were recruited through Craigslist ads from around the country.

Another company that used the strategy of flooding Missouri’s lottery with applications was an Arizona-based consulting firm called Cannabis Business Advisors. It was connected to more than 400 dispensary applicants, including six winners. All six of the group’s licenses were revoked.

According to the Division of Cannabis Regulation, the “purported majority owners” of the eight revoked licenses lacked knowledge of agreements or operations of

Red River’s lone dispensary persists, despite some locals view of cannabis as ‘taboo’ – The Taos News

In the midst of an exciting but exhausting day on the slopes in Red River, one might enjoy a breather while others zip by on skis and snowboards. Taking in the views of the valley below and the town that calls it home, a little green flag stands out in the small sprawl, marking the location of The Vault, the only dispensary in Taos County located outside of the Town of Taos.

Since November 2022, The Vault has been providing cannabis products to Red River locals and tourists alike. Near the base of Platinum Chair, the main lift at the Red River Ski Area, it’s “probably the closest dispensary to a ski area in the world,” joked co-owner Noah Trodick. Trodick opened the dispensary with his business partner Tra Venaglia after toying with the idea for years.

State revokes two local dispensary microbusiness licenses | Mid-Missouri News | komu.com – KOMU 8

Two Columbia cannabis microbusiness dispensaries were among nine in the state whose licenses were revoked Wednesday by The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation.

A Department of Health and Senior Services news release said that Frankenstein Enemy, LLC, 700 Vandiver Drive, and Cannarooted LLC, Cannarooted LLC, at 206 East Texas Ave., were among the dispensary microbusinesses that lost their licenses.

The agency found the dispensaries had rule violations such as providing false or misleading information in their applications and failure to demonstrate that the microbusiness licenses were majority owned and operated by eligible individuals, according to the release.

The state created the microbusiness category for dispensaries, which are small businesses designed to allow marginalized or under-represented individuals to participate in the legal marijuana market.

Cannabis dispensary worker ineligible for bankruptcy relief under Ch. 13 – Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

Listen to this article

The U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel has found that an employee of a state-licensed cannabis business could not avail himself of Chapter 13 protection.

The debtor, Scott Blumsack, is a full-time employee of Society Cannabis Co., a Clinton-based retailer, wholesaler and producer of cannabis products. He manages one of its retail operations and supervises 19 other employees.

When Blumsack petitioned for bankruptcy under Chapter 13, he sought to fund his plan with income from his $75,000-a-year job with Society.

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge dismissed Blumsack’s petition, finding that because the sale of cannabis is still illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act, or CSA, Blumsack’s plan should not be confirmed and his petition should be dismissed.

While finding that the Bankruptcy Court erred in fashioning a rule that employees in the cannabis industry are flatly barred from seeking Chapter 13 relief, the BAP affirmed dismissal of Blumsack’s petition.

“[T]he nature of the debtor’s employment, by itself, does not render him ineligible to file a chapter 13 petition in good faith [but] his Plan would have funneled his income from the dispensary into the chapter 13 trustee’s office, and from there to creditors, bringing the proceeds of

New milk dispensary provides life-saving solutions for ill babies, mothers in need – WDTN.com

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Last week, the second breast milk dispensary in the state opened in Dayton. The dispensary supports mothers through breast milk donation and dispensing, plus lactation support.

Donor breast milk is a valuable resource for mothers needing to supplement their supply. It’s also a vital source of nutrients and immune protection for premature and ill infants.

“Just one ounce of donor milk can feed three NICU babies for an entire day. I’ve been able to donate. I can literally help hundreds of babies for hundreds of days, which is amazing,” said Erin Roe, local milk donor.

Obstetrics is multi-generational for local family

A milk dispensary allows those with the required prescription to pick up pasteurized human milk for their infants. Donated milk is pasteurized, frozen and distributed through a physician’s prescription.

First Steps Breastfeeding Support Center has received a significant grant from the Ohio Lactation Consultant Association to assist parents who may not be able to afford donor milk or simply need a helping hand.

“And that grant will pay for 78 bottles of pasteurized human donor milk to help reduce those inequities,” said Katy Boyd, lactation consultant.

Two businesses hope to open cannabis dispensaries in Wadsworth – Chicago Tribune

A pair of companies with initial Illinois cannabis dispensing licenses hope to operate in Wadsworth within a few miles of the Wisconsin state line where no marijuana products can be sold but only one of them may get the final OK from the state.

Both Nature’s Grace and Wellness as well as Midwest G Holdings are currently trying to obtain final approval to operate cannabis shops near the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Illinois Route 173 in Wadsworth to take advantage of the Wisconsin market.

Wadsworth Village Administrator Pat DiPersio said Nature’s Grace was awarded a conditional use permit on March 18 to operate a dispensary as one of the stores in a strip shopping center at 41509 U.S. Highway 41.

Before Nature’s Grace can open, DiPersio said it must receive a building permit to renovate a space and both an occupancy permit as well as a business license from the village to operate.

DiPersio said Midwest G Holdings (Goodies) is in the process of applying for a conditional use permit. It must have a public hearing before the Plan Commission & Zoning Board of Appeals before it can go to the Village Board of Trustees for a conditional use

D.C. medical cannabis market slumps as February sales hit four-year low – The Outlaw Report

The District of Columbia’s medical cannabis market is facing a period of decline, with February dispensary sales reaching their lowest point in four years. This trend comes alongside a drop in the number of patients served and an expiration of nearly 1,850 patient certifications in the next three months.

According to newly released data from the District of Columbia’s Alcohol Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA), dispensary sales in February fell significantly compared to both last year and the year before. This decline comes despite the cultivation and manufacturing sectors maintaining relatively steady sales figures.

The report reveals that a little under 9,500 patients were served in February, a 500-patient decrease from last month. The upcoming expiration of nearly 1,850 patient certifications within the next quarter could further erode the 25,228 currently registered patients in D.C.

While overall sales are down, the D.C. market is witnessing a shift in product preferences. Sales of flower bud have steadily dropped for the past five months, with February sales reaching a new low of only 346 pounds. But vape cartridge sales have seen a significant increase, more than doubling in volume since January.

Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina remain the top states for out-of-state patient registrations. But Out-of-state
