3 charged in $436K robbery of courier outside Mass. bank – WCVB Boston

Three Massachusetts men face federal charges in connection with the February robbery of a courier who was bringing approximately $436,200 in deposits to a bank, a majority of which came from one marijuana dispensary. Steven Madison, Christopher White and Quentin McDonald all face charges, including affecting commerce by robbery, conspiracy and malicious destruction of property. Madison and White also face a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. A federal complaint, prepared by a special agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, outlines the investigation that began with the heist outside the Bay Coast Bank location in Swansea on Feb. 19, which was Presidents Day. Investigators said a courier was robbed while trying to bring bags of cash to the bank’s deposit drop box. About $373,000 of that money was picked up from a dispensary in Fall River just before the courier went to the bank, the complaint said.
