Southern Ill. cannabis dispensary cancels its eclipse festival – KFVS

GRAYVILLE, Ill. (KFVS) – A southern Illinois cannabis dispensary canceled its eclipse festival over “safety concerns.”

According to a release from Terrabis, they decided to cancel the Terrabis Eclipse Festival “after careful consideration of safety concerns and the impact on traffic flow in the town and surrounding major roadways.”

The festival was to take place Sunday, April 7, the day before the total solar eclipse.

Organizers expected the event, along with the eclipse, to bring in visitors to the area. They said there were some concerns with the attendance numbers and the effect on public safety.

“We are dedicated to the safety and well-being of our community and visitors,” Dan Ambrosino, CEO of Terrabis, said in the release. “While we are disappointed to cancel the Terrabis Eclipse Festival, we believe it is the responsible choice to ensure a positive and safe experience for all attendees.”

They said the decision to cancel the festival was made with the city of Grayville, who they said they partnered with to plan it.
