This new medical marijuana pharmacy in Kenner has a drive-thru and diverse owners – NOLA.com

Crescent City Therapeutics will officially open its doors — and drive-thru window — in Kenner this week, making Lovie Rodgers the first Black woman to have ownership stake in a medical marijuana pharmacy in the state, and perhaps the country.

The medical marijuana pharmacy was awarded the state’s tenth, and for now final, license to operate through the state Board of Pharmacy.

With the majority of states allowing marijuana to be used medicinally, and some recreationally, dispensaries are now commonplace. Crescent City Therapeutics marks Jefferson Parish’s second, but the pharmacy hopes to serve people in the far reaches of the region, offering free delivery for the greater New Orleans area, from Grand Isle to New Orleans East and the northshore. 

The average customer at Crescent City is a 46-year-old “soccer mom” who can’t sleep and has anxiety, said Chief Operations Officer Mike Maylon, but patients seek treatment for a wide variety of ailments.
