Toronto police arrest suspect in series of cannabis dispensary hold ups – CityNews Toronto

Toronto police officers have arrested a suspect in a series of armed hold ups at cannabis dispensaries.

Investigators believe the same suspect robbed four weed stores between Oct. 16, 2023, and Jan. 8, 2024.

The stores were in the Dundas Street East and Broadview Avenue area, Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West area, and St. Clair Avenue West and Jane Street area.

In each instance, investigators allege the suspect walked into a store while wearing a mask to hide his face. He would pose as a customer and walk to the checkout counter, but instead of making a purchase police say he would pull out a handgun and rob the store, leaving with quantities of cash and cannabis.

On Tuesday, March 19, police executed two search warrants related to the investigation, allegedly seizing a gun and drugs.

L’Mar Cecil Greene, 26, of Whitby, was arrested and is facing a total of 21 charges including robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
