Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries begin transition to recreational sales – Dayton 24/7 Now

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Since marijuana became legal in our state on November 7, there have been more questions than answers when it comes to when dispensaries will be able to distribute recreational marijuana and how much cannabis you’ll be able to purchase.

The Ohio Division of Cannabis Control says that there won’t be one set day when sales can begin but medical marijuana dispensaries can now start applying for their recreational marijuana license.

Once they submit their application and an inspection of their facility is completed, they will be able to distribute marijuana for recreational use.

Lisa Burton, Marketing Outreach Manager for Bloom Medicinals, says that her agency already submitted their application and is waiting to hear back.

“We’re really confident that we’ve taken the measures that as soon as we get the green light and get our dual license that we’ll be able to open up for recreational sales and provide that same good customer care,” said Burton.

The applications are going to be awarded on a first-come first-served basis so the sooner a dispensary submits their application, the sooner they’ll hear back from the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control.
